Background

In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for transitioning plastic materials toward a circular economy, which prioritizes waste reduction and circulation of materials. Additionally, reducing greenhouse gas emissions to address climate change has become a critical challenge. Phenolic resin is a durable material that supports social infrastructure by offering both lightweight properties and the rigidity and heat resistance required to serve as a substitute for metal materials. We are advancing the development of environmentally friendly technologies and their implementation in society. In recent years, we have been working to achieve the sustainability of phenolic resin across the supply chain.

About the Website

To promote the sustainability of phenolic resins, we have launched an initiative named REPHENOL and made it available online to share information broadly not only across the supply chain but also with a wide range of stakeholders to promote understanding of our efforts. We introduce the characteristics of phenolic resins, our approach to the circular economy and carbon neutrality, and examples of recycling and biomass utilization at our company. Going forward, we will continue to develop technologies that contribute to sustainability and accelerate our efforts toward social implementation through dialogue with our stakeholders.
