In response to this market demand, we developed a film used as packaging for medical devices that is made from single polyethylene material, improving recyclability while also providing sufficient strength and formability required for packaging.
This product was launched in 2025 as SUMILITE™ CEL-9530A, a packaging material for medical devices. SUMILITE™ CEL-9530A has now been certified as compatible with readily available sorting & recycling technologies commonly used at industrial scale in the recycling sector in Europe through the assessment under the RecyClass Recyclability Methodology.
And it has also been confirmed that SUMILITE™ CEL-9530A can be sorted into the polyethylene film-fraction (Assessment as an intermediate product that constitutes the final package).【Certification code: ry655-sbc-ts】

We will continue to promote SUMILITE™ CEL-9530A as a packaging material suitable for recycling and contribute to realizing a recycling-oriented society.

About RecyClass

RecyClass is an initiative to improve the recyclability of plastic waste in Europe and promote transparent resource use. By providing unified standards and tools, it aims to realize a circular system for plastics and promotes the industry's transition to a circular plastics society. It also implements a certification and assessment program to evaluate the recyclability of plastic packaging and other materials, providing concrete guidelines for improving environmental sustainability.

※ Changes in design, printing, used materials, and the effect of product content or residue might change the outcome of the assessment of a final packaging using SUMILITE™ CEL-9530A. The Letter of Compatibility class result offers scoring on recyclability in Europe, which does not consider the specific collection systems in the different countries.
